The LDD team consists of experienced and knowledgeable people across our whole organisation from head office to field personnel. Some of our staff in key function areas are profiled below and represent many decades of specialist experience.

  • Jason Clark

    Jason Clark

    Managing Director

    Jason has enjoyed over 20 years experience of specialist drilling and offshore construction serving the oil & gas, marine civil construction, mining and renewables industries. Graduating with an ACSM Mining Engineering degree he has worked extensively all over the world and successfully led and managed many world class projects; some using techniques and equipment developed from his concepts and ideas. As a businessman/engineer his hands-on experience and strong conceptual thinking lead to practical and economic solutions that work first time. His benchmark expertise lies within large diameter drilling and cutting rock and soil, tubular installations, construction and installation methodology using marine vessels and jack ups and the associated specialist equipment and systems.

  • Mark Richards

    Mark Richards

    Vice President: Commercial, Sales & Marketing

    Mark is a chartered civil engineer with over 25 years experience in civil and marine contracting. For over half of that period, Mark has been responsible for specialist marine drilling projects across the world, from the North Pole to Antarctica and many points in between. All of these have involved drilling holes in the seabed (from 0.2 to 6.0m diameter) for the oil and gas, renewable energy and scientific exploration sectors. Mark has an excellent track record of delivering success in remote locations and the harsh marine environment, whether undertaken from jack-up platforms, anchored barges or dynamically positioned vessels. He relishes the challenge of delivering "what we say, when we say, safely".

    Andy Seager

    Vice President: Operations

    Andy is committed to providing an exemplary service that matches requirements to past, present and future clients. Andy has over 15 years experience in mining and marine construction much of which has been centered around large diameter drilling services within the offshore oil and gas construction industries. Andy is keen to further develop product range and complementary services to make LDD into the world leading company to approach for tubular handling and drilling services worldwide.

  • Steve Maynard

    Steve Maynard

    Engineering Manager

    Steve has over 23 years of experience designing for global markets, from medium volume manufacturing of process equipment for mining and quarrying through to specialist overwater and offshore marine drilling equipment. Steve applies his broad-based knowledge and experience to delivering projects from concept to commissioning and it is this capability which is an important factor in LDD's ability to deliver bespoke equipment solutions, right, first time and on time.

    James McGovan

    Technical Sales Manager

    With 10 years direct experience in mining & construction industries, concentrating on marine construction for the past 9 years. James has played key roles in projects throughout Europe serving marine construction, oil & gas and renewable energy sectors and understands clients' requirements across these markets. James draws on his experience and combined experience of the LDD team to ensure clients are offered the best service for their projects, be it a standard or innovative LDD solution whilst maintaining attention to detail to ensure success for LDD and its clients.

    Linda White

    Manager - Business Support Services

    Linda's main objective is to ensure the smooth running of the office and to fully support each and every member of LDD's team of dynamic people in providing effective solutions. This includes ensuring that high standards are adhered to for the smooth delivery of the LDD ethos: "What we say, when we say, safely." Her more than 20 year work history encompasses work in the leisure industry, education and for an offshore service provider. Linda's background includes senior PA roles, and she is committed to providing an exemplary level of customer service and assisting LDD to drive forward.

    Lee Edwards

    Projects Manager

    Lee is a proactive and conscientious Projects Manager; drawing on a wide range of technical expertise with 10 years experience in the mining and marine construction industries. Lee's experience has been based around marine drilling within the Oil and gas sector and construction projects, having managed projects throughout the world. Lee thrives when working as part of the LDD team to help deliver rewarding projects that yield business benefits.

  • Les Burns

    Les Burns

    Financial Controller

    Les has worked for over 25 years in finance and accountancy in wide range of industries. Having started as an accounts clerk for a family run business in the motor trade and then as a Group Audit Manager, when the company was acquired by a national company, Les has gained a sound understanding of accounting systems and policies. More recently, Les held the post of Head of Finance for a joinery manufacturer for 5 years prior to joining the LDD team.

  • David Jenkin

    David Jenkin

    Senior Design Engineer

    David has 37 years in Engineering Design reaching the highest levels of Senior Management. His career has covered all aspects of Drill Rig Designing in Mining and Quarrying as well as Geothermal and Geotechnical applications allied to a period of time in Material Handling and General Mine Engineering. All things structural, hydraulic or pneumatic are inherent in his training and this broad experience enables the LDD team to produce economic technical designs using the latest technology.

  • Vicki Spooner

    Vicki Spooner

    QHSE Manager

    Vicki is the QHSE Manager for LDD, she has experience both in the public sector and the marine service industry. She holds a masters degree in Environmental Business Management as well as the NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Safety and Health and is constantly ensuring her knowledge of current legislation and best practice is up to date. She concentrates on the continuous improvement of the Company's Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental management systems ensuring they remain relevant and encompass the requirements of current applicable legislation, best practice and client requirements.

  • James Tuckwell

    James Tuckwell

    General Manager LDD Australia

    James has enjoyed over 10 years experience in major infrastructure projects. His focus towards a positive, collaborative and innovative approach has delivered exceptional results in both Northern and Southern Hemispheres ensuring that the needs of all stakeholders are embraced and exceeded. This coupled with James' experiences, ranging through conceptual projects through to delivery and commissioning, will be an essential factor in ensuring LDD are able to deliver world leading solutions to all Clients and Customers.
