Jacket installation - Grand Bahama
LDD have been awarded a contract by Cal Dive International to provide their specialist Pile Drilling and Grouting services for the installation of a jacket structure as part of a berth replacement scheme for BORCO. The project is approximately one mile offshore from the Port of Freeport in Grand Bahamas and is located in approximately 40m of water.
LDD’s scope of works includes the supply and operation of S-150 hydraulic impact hammers, provided by CIS, another Acteon company, LDD612 pile-top-drill and Offshore grouting spread for the complete pile installation. LDD will drive 54” primary piles into the seabed followed by drilling inside and below primary piles to create an open socket for placement and grouting of 48” secondary piles. For the sockets for the grouted piles, LDD will supply a 1245/1475mm under-reaming drill bit to achieve the required socket diameter below the 54” primary pile. Piling operations are expected to commence after the 1st quarter of 2011.
