LDD StabFrame, Waimea, Brazil
In conjuction with Acteon sister company MENCK, LDD has reached an important milestone at the Waimea Field, offshore Brazil. LDD has successfully utilized LDD 84" StabFrame (sub-sea piling frame) to install half of the 84" diameter anchor piles in 140m for the construction of the FPSO OSX-1 mooring system for Wellstream.
LDD completed the load-out of the sub-sea piling spread onto the Aker Wayfarer for Wellstream, back in June 2011, but due to an overall project delay were unable to start works until September 2011. To date 5 piles have been installed using the LDD 84" StabFrame and with 5 more to go, the project seems to be well on its way to a successful conclusion.
This is particularly good news for both LDD and MENCK as it is the first time the newly designed StabFrame has been deployed on a contract. Hopefully there will be many more to follow.
Watch out for more news in the near future!
