Hydraulic release shackles (HRS) are typically used where unhooking the load is not possible, or the associated risks and/or costs of unhooking are too great, such as working at height, restrictive access, unsafe environments and deep-water depths.
The standard design gives the flexibility of a bespoke HRS without the extra design costs and long lead times. We can offer basic shackles which are surface powered via a hose reel, with a diver fail-safe, or provide multi-purpose shackles incorporating all the features listed below.
Features:
The internal lifting tool (ILT) is a versatile pile and conductor handling tool. ILTs can be easily inserted in a vertical or horizontal position and can be used to a depth of 3000m.
One setting for each pile size covers a wide range of available wall thicknesses. Most of the ILTs are supplied in a dedicated DNV certified container, which doubles as an on-site workshop container. Spacers can be changed quickly, allowing the tool to be resized in a fast, simple and safe way – especially important for multi-sized piling projects. The ILT also self-locks once a lifting load is applied to ensure safe operation.
30″-60″ and 16″-36″ ILTs are available for rental. Both tools follow the same design specification to enable rapid tooling change out offshore and simplistic operation.
Integral tooling that can be used in combination with hydraulic shackles or the Quicklatch piling spread handling tool to create a complete lifting system capable of being remotely operated with zero personnel intervention.
Additional monitoring equipment can be built into the lift beam including cameras, load monitors, attitude sensors and positioning sensors.
