Drilling and installations, 0.5–7.0 m in diameter, can be accommodated in virtually all soil and rock types from fixed or floating vessels. Air lift Reverse Circulation Drilling (RCD) and Down-The-Hole rotary percussive hammer drilling (DTH) techniques are used.
Services range from hire of hardware, operators and technicians to comprehensive solution and service construction packages, including design, engineering, consultancy and management. LDD provides safe and cost effective solutions to technically difficult offshore marine projects across a variety of industries.
Drilled and grouted foundations are applied to various offshore structures, such as jackets; pipeline end manifolds; and single-point-mooring, mooring, anchor and docking piles. Relief drilling for driven piles and drilled pre-conductors and conductors is offered. The company also undertakes the specialist foundation drilling and pile installations required for complete liquefied natural gas marine terminal facilities.
LDD’s specialist techniques and experience are applied to bridge foundations, ports, harbours, jetties, marinas, slipways, beacons, markings and offshore riser/ intake shafts (sewage and desalination).
The company provides monopile and jacket (tripod/quad) foundation solutions using specialist drilling intervention for offshore wind turbine foundations, substations, meteorological masts and marine-current-turbine and wave-generation foundations.
Shaft drilling and lining solutions are available for marine and land shafts. The offshore marine sampling and marine mining solutions and services LDD provides are based on reverse-circulation drilling and hardware.
LDD can manage the construction of complex offshore marine diffusers for cooling water intakes and outlets, including shaft drilling, liner design and installation, and tie-in to outfall tunnels.
